There and back walk. Spectacular views from the top of Moel Hywel.

01-Dec: Fishy figure of eight

Starting from the car park at Fishpools, a figure of eight with the opportunity to go back to the cars half way round.

Conditions:Distance 6.7 Miles It’s a fairly easy walk, with one steepish ascent just before the end. It may well be very wet and muddy in places. No stiles.

17-Nov: The Everest Loop

Parking is at the Everest Hall, Llanfair Waterdine. Includes parts of the Jack Mytton Way and Offa's Dyke Path.

Conditions:7.5 miles. None of the climbs are too steep - one section of the Offa's Dyke Path is a bit more demanding. One steep descent and a section of more difficult terrain over dead/dying bracken! About one mile on quiet lane at the end.

03-Nov: St Padern's Church

Starting opposite St Padern's Church, Nr Crossgates. Parking in layby on right of lane. Please park in chevrons to give more space. First part is a bit taxing with difficult gates and stiles. This can be avoided by going down the road to just before the coffee stop (1Mile ish). After that nothing more than a few gentle or short slopes and some stiles, up and down to Alpine bridge returning to go over the bridge on the main road.

Presteigne circular taking in Willey Hall, Abley’s Green and Stapleton Castle.Parking is by Recycling Centre on the by-pass . The route heads north from Presteigne and explores the delightful countryside. Full Welsh Breakfast at Lizzie’s at 9.30

20-Oct: Abbey Cwm Hir Heritage walks.

Start from Village Hall. 2 loops either side of alley.

13-Oct: Cnwch Bank Circular

Parking by Gravel Chapel. Includes a section of Glyndwr's Way and the Heart of Wales Line Trail.

Conditions:7.5 - 8 miles ( depending how long your legs are !! ) One mile on road. Farmland and exposed moorland. Several ascents including one steepish climb at the beginning and some steepish descents. Quite a bit of walk on stony tracks.

06-Oct: Castell Tinboeth and beyond

We will meet at the lay by opposite the old toilets on the A483 at Llananno. Overflow parking, if necessary by the toilets. Mixture of quiet country roads, footpaths and a permissive path up to Castell Tinboeth where we can stop for our morning refreshment break.

29-Sep: Wye 3 pools and the railway men

It will start from by the egg shed about a mile Aberedw side of Erwood Station. The first 40% - 50% will be a gentle uphill rising from by the Wye go up to just short of Twm Tobacco's Grave and down hill back to the cars, there will be an option to shorten the walk but only by about a mile.

22-Sep: Boughrood Bridge.

Parking is on the common by the cattle grid. The route comprises a long descent through woodland to Boughrood Bridge. It then follows the the Wye to Tericket Mill. Crossing the main road to follow the small road up to the common to return back to the car.

15-Sep: Cynghordy walk

Meeting at Cynghordy Railway Station. Taking in, farmland, forestry, moorland. Before 2 miles there is a possible cut off making the walk 4 ish Miles.

08-Sep: Heart of Wales Line Trail

It starts at the Epynt viewpont going East on the Heart of Wales Line Trail and returning via the Duhonw valley.

01-Sep: Walk and Lunch

A short walk up to the new Observatory then lunch at Penbont Team Rooms.Tables booked for 12.30. Please contact Graham by close of play on Monday 30th on what you would like to eat if lunching.

Conditions:3.79 mile walk with one steep 17 minutes climb up to the new observatory (shed) and back down through a forestry track. Option to do a flat 'there and back' route along a level track - 1.32 miles - or a little more to visit the dam.

25-Aug: Cwmdu

We will meet and park by Cwmdu Village Hall, it's a sharp right turn before you enter the village. We will have a steady climb through farmland up to Cefn Moel, then open hill to Mynydd Llangorse and returning via Pen Tir, there's a steep descent coming off the hill.

22-Aug: AGM and Barbecue

Arrive from 3pm. AGM at 4PM Food at 5PM. Boned leg of Lamb in North African spices or Smokey Trout with lime and Vietnamese coriander or vegetarian/vegan if requested. 04-Aug: Cwmdauddwr Three loops

Relatively easy walk, passing through woodlands, coming back along the millenium trail. There are two opportunities to cut the walk short.

28-Jul: Castle Bank - Builth Wells

The route to reach the Fort at the top at Castle Bank will be by road to the farm at Llwynmadoc. Access is just beyond the farm. Lunch will be at the Fort with a 360° view. Once off the open land return will be by road as footpaths are blocked or not suitable for group walking. If you goggle Castle Bank you will find some useful information and photographs. Don't forget the competition at lunch time!

21-Jul: Yew Tree Bank and beyond.

We will meet and park at the Village Hall, which is by the Church. The walk starts with about 500 yards on the road, before taking a track up onto the ridge, the first 600 yards of which is a steady uphill assent. The first half of the walk on the hill will take in the view looking down over the village and the church, where we will have the coffee break, and then we will walk along the southern edge of the moorland into England and upto the old race course and the Monkey Puzzle Trees where we will stop for lunch. After lunch we will walk along the ridge and back down into Gladestry. The last half a mile will be the reverse of the first half a mile.

14-Jul: Betwix and Between

Between Rhayader and the Elan Valley. Parking on the raised road just past the Cross roads by the Dolfallen Bridge over the River Elan. Best to approach the parking area from the Elan Valley side and driving towards the Rhayader end - otherwise blind corner on leaving.We pass :- Dolfallen, Blaen Y Cwm, Cefn and Bwlch Y Coch.

09-Jun: Pant y Llyn and Banc y Celyn

This is a walk around open common land, taking in the lake and following part of the Wye Valley walk. Plenty of parking up on the common.

02-Jun: Grand opening of a new route to Crugyn Ci

Opportunity to break new ground in the Elan Valley and celebrate a new route which avoids the rockfall at Devil's Gulch. Fairly easy going under foot most of the way with two uphill sections and some wonderful views of Craig Goch and Penygarreg reservoirs. Start point: Car park at Penygarreg Reservoir Dam. Plenty of room for cars in the car park and there is overflow parking opposite the tea rooms.

26-May: Circular-Comen Coch/Coed Tiseger from Garth Bank

The walk starts from the Garth Bank Car-park climbs up onto Comin Coch before levelling out, then dropping down to Tyncoed. Here there is an opt out which shortens the walk to around 4 miles. It passes through Coed Tyseger then back.
